1krNote privacy policy
Effective 31 October 2026 · applies to 1krNote for Android and iPhone (com.krnote.app) and to the
1kr account it signs in to
Short version: your notes, photos, videos and voice memos are stored on your phone. The app works without an account. If you sign in and use the AI features, the text of a note is sent (without being stored) to make a search index, and during an AI voice call your voice, the notes it finds and, when you switch it on, the camera picture go to Google's Gemini service. We don't sell your data, there are no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools in the app, and it uses no advertising identifier.
Who we are
1krNote and the 1kr account are run by Mark Peter, who decides how your data is used (the "controller"). Contact: support@1kr.uk. Our server and database are in the European Union (Poland).
What the app uses on your phone, and why
| Permission or data | Why |
|---|---|
| Microphone | To record voice memos, and to talk to the AI voice assistant. Only while you record or are in a call. |
| Camera | To take a photo or video for a note, and, only when you switch it on during a call, to let the AI assistant see what the camera shows. |
| Photos and videos you pick | You choose them in the system picker; the app gets only what you choose, never your whole library. |
| Notifications (Android: also exact alarms and start at boot) | To remind you of a note at the time you set. |
| Phone numbers and e-mail addresses you type into a note | Stored with the note so you can call, text or e-mail from it. |
| A phone number you choose from your contacts | In the note editor you pick one number in the phone's own contact picker; the app receives only that number and keeps it with the note on your phone. This needs no contacts permission, and the number isn't sent anywhere. |
| Contacts (only if you allow it) | When you name a person to the AI assistant ("call Mark Sutton"), the app looks that name up in your contacts on the phone and puts the number or e-mail address into the note's contact field or into the message you confirm. The phone asks for permission the first time; you can say no and tell the assistant the number instead. The lookup runs on the phone: your contacts, and the number found, are not sent to us, to Google or anywhere else, and the assistant is told only whether the person was found. |
Notes and attachments are kept in the app's private storage. They may be included in your own phone backup if you have backups on. Your sign-in and the phone's keys are never included in backups and never leave the phone.
What leaves your phone
Without an account
- Sponsored cards (free plan, and Starter while it's free). The app asks our server for up to two short text cards with a link, sending only the phone's language and country, and on Android the creator code if you installed the app through a 1kr creator's link (the same code for everyone who used that link; it's read from Google Play on your phone). No device identifier is sent. When you open a card, only the card's number is counted. Cards aren't chosen from your notes, location or behaviour, and no advertising network is used.
If you sign in to a 1kr account
- Registering this phone (once). The app creates two keys on your phone (in the Android Keystore or the iPhone's Secure Enclave; the private keys never leave it) and a random installation number, and sends the public keys, that number, the app version and a check from Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iPhone). The check tells us whether this is the genuine app on a genuine phone; we keep its result, not your phone's details.
- Signing in. Your e-mail address, password and, if you turned it on, your two-step code are sent to our server to check them; the password isn't kept by the app. The phone then holds a short sign-in pass (15 minutes, in memory) and a renewal pass stored encrypted on the phone. Every request that matters is signed with the phone's key, so a copied pass is useless on another device.
- Creating an account in the app (iPhone). Your e-mail address, the password you chose, that you accepted the terms, and your language; we send you an e-mail to confirm the address.
- Plan check. About once a day the app asks our server which plan your account has.
- Note search index (AI plans). When you save a note, its text is sent to our server, which asks Google's Gemini API to turn it into a list of numbers (an "embedding") that makes meaning-based search possible. The embedding is stored only on your phone; we don't store the note text. Photos, videos and voice memos are never sent.
- AI voice assistant (AI plans). When you start a call, the app asks our server for a single-use access pass, sending the assistant you chose, its language, any instructions you wrote for your own assistant and the date. The app then connects directly to Google's Gemini Live service and streams your voice while the call lasts, and camera pictures if you turn the camera on. To answer, the assistant can search your notes on the phone; the notes it finds are sent to Gemini as part of the conversation. It can also create a note on your phone, or prepare an e-mail or SMS that opens in your own app for you to send. A phone number or e-mail address you say goes into the note's contact fields; a person you name is looked up in your contacts on the phone (see above), and the number found isn't sent to Gemini. We don't record or store calls.
- AI limits. We count how many AI calls and searches your account makes each day, to keep usage fair.
Things you do yourself are never automatic: sharing a note, calling or e-mailing from a note, and sending a message the assistant prepared.
Your 1kr account
The same 1kr account works in 1krNote and our other apps, and on our website (api.1kr.uk/account). For
it we store your e-mail address, a password hash (never the password), your language, your two-step sign-in secret
(encrypted) and recovery codes (hashed) if you turn it on, your plan for each app and its end date, whether you have
started the free Starter, the phones signed in to your account (their keys, app version, check result and when they were last used),
and a history of security-relevant actions (such as sign-ins and plan changes, without your notes).
Your own Gemini key (Starter plan). If you save your own Google Gemini API key on the website, we store it encrypted and use it only for your AI requests. Google then processes those requests under your own agreement with Google; on Google's free API tier Google may use that content to improve its products.
Payments. Plans bought on the website are sold by our reseller Polar (polar.sh), the "Merchant of Record", who receives your payment details directly and handles tax; we receive the subscription's state and the order (plan, amount, date), never your card number. Plans bought in the iPhone app are sold by Apple; we receive Apple's signed record of the subscription (product, dates and a purchase number), never your payment details. If you join the creator or partner programme we also store your code, your sponsored cards and your commissions.
Why we use your data (legal bases)
- To provide what you asked for (contract): your account, plan, note search and the AI assistant.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and preventing abuse (phone checks, signed requests, phone limits, daily AI limits, the security history), and funding the free plan with sponsored cards.
- Legal obligation: keeping payment and commission records for tax purposes.
Who else processes data
| Who | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini API) | Note search embeddings and the AI voice assistant (voice, camera pictures, notes found during a call) | Worldwide, including the United States |
| Google (Play, Play Integrity) | App distribution, the creator code, and checking the app and phone (Android) | Worldwide |
| Apple (App Store, App Attest) | App distribution, in-app subscriptions, and checking the app and phone (iPhone) | Worldwide |
| Polar | Website payments (reseller, Merchant of Record) | United States / EU |
| Our hosting provider | Runs our server, database and e-mail | European Union (Poland) |
For Pro and Max we use Google's paid Gemini API: under its terms Google doesn't use this data to train its models and keeps it only for a limited time to detect abuse and comply with law (Gemini API terms, Google privacy policy). Transfers outside the European Economic Area rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension) or on standard contractual clauses. We don't sell personal data and don't share it with anyone for their own advertising.
How long data is kept
| Data | Kept |
|---|---|
| Notes, attachments and search embeddings on your phone | Until you delete them, the expiry you chose for a note, or until you uninstall the app |
| Note text sent for the search index; AI calls | Not stored by us: processed in memory only |
| Account, plans, signed-in phones, your own AI key, creator or partner data | Until you delete your account |
| A phone removed from your account | Its keys for 6 months, then deleted |
| Daily AI-use counts; records of a new phone taking an old one's place | 90 days |
| Security history and plan changes (never note text) | 2 years |
| Orders, commissions and payouts | 7 years (tax law) |
| Network addresses (IP) | Used briefly to limit repeated requests; not stored in our database |
Your choices and rights
- Delete notes in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on the phone.
- Use the app without an account, or sign out in Settings → Account (this also removes the phone's keys).
- Delete your account and its data in the app (Settings → Delete account; on Android this opens the deletion page in your browser) or on the website; see how to delete your 1kr account. A website subscription must be cancelled first; an App Store subscription is cancelled in your Apple ID settings.
- Download a copy of your account data on the website (Your data → Download my data).
- Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (including to our use of legitimate interests). Write to support@1kr.uk; we answer within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority: ours is the UODO in Poland, or the one where you live (in the UK, the ICO).
Security
All network traffic uses HTTPS. The phone's keys are kept in the Android Keystore or the iPhone's Secure Enclave and can't be copied off the phone; requests are signed with them. Passwords are stored only as hashes, and your own AI key and two-step secret are encrypted. Access passes for the AI assistant are short-lived and single-use, so our Google API key never reaches your phone.
Children
1krNote isn't directed at children. You must be at least 16 to create a 1kr account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by e-mail before a change that affects how your data is used.
Kontakt: support@1kr.uk. Nasz serwer i baza danych znajdują się w Unii Europejskiej (w Polsce).
Z czego aplikacja korzysta na telefonie i dlaczego
| Uprawnienie lub dane | Po co |
|---|---|
| Mikrofon | Do nagrywania notatek głosowych i rozmowy z asystentem głosowym AI. Tylko podczas nagrywania lub rozmowy. |
| Aparat | Do zrobienia zdjęcia lub filmu do notatki oraz, tylko gdy włączysz go w trakcie rozmowy, by asystent AI widział obraz z aparatu. |
| Numery telefonów i adresy e-mail wpisane w notatce | Zapisane z notatką, by zadzwonić, wysłać SMS lub e-mail prosto z niej. |
Notatki i załączniki są w prywatnym miejscu aplikacji. Mogą trafić do Twojej kopii zapasowej telefonu, jeśli ją włączyłeś. Logowanie i klucze telefonu nigdy nie trafiają do kopii zapasowej i nie opuszczają telefonu.
Co opuszcza telefon
Bez konta
Twój e-mail, wybrane hasło, akceptacja regulaminu i język; wysyłamy e-mail z potwierdzeniem adresu.
- Sprawdzenie planu. Mniej więcej raz dziennie aplikacja pyta nasz serwer, jaki plan ma konto.
- Indeks wyszukiwania notatek (plany z AI).
- Limity AI. Liczymy, ile rozmów i wyszukiwań AI wykonuje konto każdego dnia, by korzystanie było uczciwe.
Twoje konto 1kr
To samo konto 1kr działa w 1krNote, w naszych innych aplikacjach i na stronie (api.1kr.uk/account).
Przechowujemy: e-mail, skrót hasła (nigdy samo hasło), język, sekret weryfikacji dwuetapowej (zaszyfrowany) i kody
Plany kupione na stronie sprzedaje nasz pośrednik Polar (polar.sh), „Merchant of Record”, który otrzymuje dane płatności bezpośrednio i rozlicza podatki; my otrzymujemy stan subskrypcji i zamówienie (plan, kwota, data), nigdy numer karty. Plany kupione w aplikacji na iPhone'a sprzedaje Apple; otrzymujemy podpisany przez Apple zapis subskrypcji (produkt, daty i numer zakupu), nigdy dane płatności. Jeśli dołączysz do programu dla twórców lub partnerów, przechowujemy też Twój kod, karty sponsorowane i prowizje.
Podstawy prawne
- Wykonanie umowy: konto, plan, wyszukiwanie notatek i asystent AI.
- Prawnie uzasadniony interes: bezpieczeństwo usługi i zapobieganie nadużyciom (sprawdzanie telefonów, podpisane żądania, limity telefonów, dzienne limity AI, historia bezpieczeństwa) oraz finansowanie planu bezpłatnego kartami sponsorowanymi.
- Obowiązek prawny: przechowywanie dokumentów płatności i prowizji do celów podatkowych.
Kto jeszcze przetwarza dane
| Kto | Po co | Gdzie |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini API) | Embeddingi do wyszukiwania i asystent głosowy AI (głos, obraz z aparatu, notatki znalezione w rozmowie) | Cały świat, w tym USA |
| Google (Play, Play Integrity) | Dystrybucja aplikacji, kod twórcy oraz sprawdzanie aplikacji i telefonu (Android) | Cały świat |
| Apple (App Store, App Attest) | Dystrybucja aplikacji, subskrypcje w aplikacji oraz sprawdzanie aplikacji i telefonu (iPhone) | Cały świat |
| Polar | Płatności na stronie (pośrednik, Merchant of Record) | USA / UE |
| Nasz dostawca hostingu | Serwer, baza danych i poczta | Unia Europejska (Polska) |
| Historia bezpieczeństwa i zmian planu (nigdy treść notatek) | 2 lata |
| Zamówienia, prowizje i wypłaty | 7 lat (prawo podatkowe) |
Twoje wybory i prawa
- Usuwaj notatki w aplikacji w dowolnej chwili.
Dzieci
1krNote nie jest skierowany do dzieci. Konto 1kr może założyć osoba, która ukończyła 16 lat. Jeśli uważasz, że dziecko przekazało nam dane osobowe, napisz do nas, a je usuniemy.
Zmiany
