Blocking a range of numbers (e.g. a country)

If scams keep coming from numbers that start the same way, you can block them all at once.

  1. Open Settings → Trusted & blocked senders → Blocked.
  2. Tap Block a range of numbers….
  3. Under Number starts with, type the start of the numbers, for example +225 for every number from Côte d'Ivoire, and tap Block range.

Messages from those numbers go straight to Blocked. The range is saved as a rule, so you can change or remove it in Rules.

Be careful with wide ranges: blocking your own country's code, or a common mobile prefix, would block friends and genuine services too. To be warned about foreign numbers instead of blocking them, create a rule with Sender’s country is not one of and the decision Inbox with warning.
