1krBlocker asks only for what an SMS app needs to check your messages. During setup it explains each one under What 1krBlocker uses, and why:
- All your SMS and MMS: To check every message and to work as your SMS app: reading, sending and storing texts. Android gives these to the default SMS app; without them nothing can be checked.
- Notifications: To tell you about new messages, and if protection ever stops.
- Contacts (optional): To show names and to trust people you know a little more. Contacts are only read on this phone.
- Phone state and your number (on dual-SIM phones): to show which SIM a message came to, and to send from it.
- Internet: only for the optional features: threat-list updates, online link checks you turn on, Deep check you ask for, and linking an account. Messages are checked offline.
1krBlocker has no analytics, crash reports or advertising ID, and never uploads your contacts, numbers or messages on its own.
If you said no to something, change it in the phone's Settings → Apps → 1krBlocker → Permissions, or open Settings → Protection status in the app.
