While 1krBlocker is your SMS app, chat features (RCS) are off: no typing indicators, no read receipts and no high-quality photos from chat features. Your conversations continue as ordinary SMS and MMS.
Why: RCS messages are handled by Google's own app (Google Messages), and Android doesn't let any other app read or check them. A scam sent over RCS would never pass through 1krBlocker's checks. As SMS, every message can be checked before you see it.
What it means for you:
- People with RCS turned on can still message you; their messages arrive as SMS.
- Group chats and photos work as MMS, which may look less sharp than chat photos.
- If you switch back to Google Messages later, chat features can be turned on again there.
You can't have both at once: an app that isn't your default SMS app can't stop a message before it reaches you.
