Most scam texts follow the same pattern. Be careful when a message:
- Hurries you: "today", "within 24 hours", "last warning".
- Asks for a small payment: a parcel fee, an unpaid fine, a bill, a delivery charge.
- Asks for a code, password or card details. Banks, couriers, authorities and 1kr never ask for these by text.
- Pretends to be someone you know on a new number: "Hi Mum, I lost my phone, this is my new number".
- Threatens you: an account block, a power cut-off, a police case.
- Promises money: a prize, a refund, an investment, an easy job.
- Has a link that doesn't quite match the company, or a short link that hides where it goes.
- Asks you to install an app or to let someone "help" you remotely.
The safest habit: don't act on the message itself. Open the company's own app or website, or call a number you already know (the one on your card or a bill), and check there.
1krBlocker checks for these signs too, but no filter catches everything: No filter catches everything. Stay careful with unexpected requests for money, codes or passwords, even when 1krBlocker sees nothing wrong.
