In 1krBlocker, links in messages are never tappable straight away. They show as a small chip with the website's name. Tapping the chip opens the Link preview first, so you see where the link really goes before anything opens.
The link preview shows:
- This link goes to: the full address, with the real website name highlighted. Scam links often put a known brand somewhere in the address while the real site is something else.
- What we found: anything unusual about the address, such as a short link, letters from other alphabets that imitate a real site, or a site on a list of dangerous websites.
- This preview never opens the page. Nothing is downloaded until you choose to open it.
To open it: tap Open. How many confirmations follow depends on the risk:
- An ordinary message: one question, Open this link?
- A message that looks suspicious: a warning first, This message looks suspicious
- A website known to be dangerous (Known dangerous website): you have to tick "I understand this site is known to be dangerous" and then hold the button (Hold to open). We strongly advise you not to open these.
The page opens in your browser, outside 1krBlocker. Never enter codes, passwords or card details on a page you reached from a text message: go to the company's website or app yourself instead.
You can also tap Copy link; links copied from a risky message are made unclickable.
