Reading the "Why?" screen

Every message in 1krBlocker has a Why? button (in a message's menu, in quarantine and in the security history). It opens Why is this here?, which explains the decision in plain words.

From top to bottom:

  1. A headline, for example "This looks like a fake delivery notice" or "This is from someone you know, and nothing in it looks risky".
  2. The risk level and score (0 to 100), with how sure the app is.
  3. The decision: delivered to your inbox, delivered with a warning, kept in quarantine, or blocked.
  4. The reasons, grouped by what they're about: Sender, Message, Link, Attachment, Your rules, Threat lists and Trust. Each says whether it raised or lowered the score. Matching words are highlighted in the message.
  5. How the score was calculated: how the reasons add up to the score.
  6. What we recommend, and buttons such as Block & delete or Not spam.

Trust lowers the score: a sender in your contacts or one you trusted makes a message less risky, but never "safe no matter what", because their phone or number can be misused.

"We couldn’t fully check this message, so we kept it aside to be safe" means a check couldn't finish (rarely, for example when the phone was busy or a message was unusual). To be safe, the message was kept aside. Look at it yourself: if you recognise it, move it to your inbox.

If you think a decision is wrong, see "A real message ended up in quarantine" or "A scam got through: what to do".
